Houston criminal defense attorney Lisa Shapiro Strauss is here to tell you — that’s NOT true! Lisa is still working everyday to fight her current cases and any new cases that she gets during this time.

What If I’m Out On Bond in Harris County During the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic?

Harris County courts are trying to figure out how to shift to a “virtual” system for a short time period for the jail cases. However, most cases in which the person charged is currently on bond are being reset until May 2020 or later.

The good news is that this extension gives Lisa tons of time to get together (virtually!) with her clients and work on cases.

What If I Have a New Case Right Now in Harris County During the COVID-19 Outbreak?

If you have a new case during this time of uncertainty, make sure to first call Lisa Shapiro Strauss and she will explain to you what is going on, what you can do, and what to expect.

If someone is in jail right now in Houston or Harris County, she will fight to get their bond either lowered or try to get them a PR (personal recognizance bond), so they can get back back home. Once that happens, then she will start start the process of investigating and discussing the merits of the case.

Can I Clear My Arrest Record During the Coronavirus?

Yes! Let Us Help You Clear Your Record! We Help With Expungements and Orders of Non-Disclosure in Harris County. While the record of an arrest may not go away after a certain period of time, it may be possible, under certain circumstances to get an arrest removed or “expunged” from the public record in Harris County.
